Proposal photography in Malta gives you an incredible choice of locations, from historic streets and harbour views to cliffs and Mediterranean sunsets. I’ll help you plan the location, timing and small details beforehand, then capture the proposal discreetly as it happens. Most couples tell me afterwards they never even noticed me and thought I was just another tourist.
Planning Your Proposal
Once we choose a date, we’ll arrange a call or meeting and plan everything together. The aim is to make sure you know exactly what to do while keeping the proposal completely natural and, most importantly, a surprise.

Best Proposal Locations in Malta
Malta has very different proposal locations within a relatively small area, so the right choice depends on the atmosphere you want, the time of day and how private you would like the proposal to feel.
Mdina: Mdina is one of the most popular locations for proposal photography in Malta. Its narrow limestone streets, historic architecture and quieter corners give you plenty of options for both the proposal itself and portraits afterwards. Early mornings and evenings usually work particularly well when the streets are less busy.
Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta: For someone who wants an instantly recognisable Maltese backdrop, Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta is a strong option. The views across the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities create a completely different look from Mdina. Because it can get busy, timing and the exact proposal spot need to be planned carefully.
Dingli Cliffs: Dingli Cliffs works particularly well if you want an open landscape, sea views and sunset light. There is far more space than you would have in Valletta or Mdina, giving the proposal a more relaxed and private feeling while also giving us plenty of room for portraits afterwards.
Birgu: Birgu is one of my favourite options if you want historic streets without choosing Mdina or Valletta. The waterfront, traditional Maltese balconies, narrow streets and harbour views give us several completely different backgrounds within walking distance of each other.
Buskett Woodlands: Buskett is ideal if you prefer greenery and a more natural setting. The woodland gives your proposal photographs a completely different feel from Malta’s limestone architecture and coastal locations. It also offers quieter areas where I can position myself discreetly before you arrive.
What Happens on the Day
On the day of the proposal, I’ll already be in position before you arrive. You simply follow the plan we agreed beforehand and focus on the person standing next to you.
I’ll photograph the proposal discreetly from a distance so you can experience the moment without a camera being pushed into it.
Once you’ve had a few minutes together and the initial excitement settles, we’ll walk around the location for a relaxed portrait session. This gives you photographs of the proposal itself as well as portraits together immediately afterwards while everything is still fresh.
